Limestone men shooting too get back to NCAAs
Saints coming off Carolinas Conference championship, 1st-round Division II tournament appearance

Limestone coach Brandon Scott and his players haven’t been to the mountaintop — but from where they sit, they’ve gotten a pretty good look at it. And that’s a view they’d like to see in reverse.
“What last year’s experience did was make us want to get back there and this time go in with the mindset that we’re going to win the whole thing,” Scott said of last season’s Carolinas Conference championship and first-round NCAA Division II tournament appearance.
“I think last season we were so excited to have won the conference championship that maybe we were just happy to be in the tournament.”
While in years past, a number of team and season goals have been identified, the fifth-year Limestone coach said only one has been set this time: Get back to the NCAA tournament.
To do that, the Saints (23-7, 14-4 in 2010-11) will once again count on big things from versatile forward Jarrell Douglass, the returning Carolinas Conference Tournament MVP and a preseason honorable mention All-America by The Sporting News. Blessed with long arms, Douglass’ strength and footwork make him a dominant offensive player in the post who plays much taller than his 6-5 frame, while his quickness, shooting, and developing ability to put it on the floor and go either left or right make him a nightmare for opposing post players to deal with on the perimeter.
