OCALA - The flu may have been able to slow Marlyn Bryant, but it couldn't stop him.

Bryant, who spent more time than normal on the bench during Friday night's Class 5A, District 4 semifinal at Central Florida Community College, still scored 18 points to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 73-54 victory over Gainesville (16-14).

The Yellow Jackets (26-4), under first-year Coach Chad Keller and ranked second in the Class 5A Florida Sports Writers Association's state poll and third in the Sentinel Super 6, will meet Belleview in tonight's 7:30 p.m. championship game.

The Diamondback Rattlers defeated Gainesville Buchholz 53-35 in the other semifinal.
"We have several players who have the flu," Keller said. "Marlyn doesn't have it full-fledged, but he was very winded tonight."
