LEESBURG - Put Leesburg's victory over Ocala Forest into the taking-care-of-business category.

Leesburg (12-3, 3-0) did what it was expected to do at Ray Hayes Memorial Gymnasium Tuesday night, easily handling the Wildcats (4-9, 0-3) and staying in first place in Class 5A, District 7, with an 88-62 victory.

The game wasn't that close.

``We are in a unique situation we weren't in at this point last year, where we can control our own destiny,'' Leesburg Coach Pat Todd said. ``Everyone in the league has at least one district loss, but we still have some big district games coming up. By no means are we taking anything for granted.''

Forest remained close for the first six minutes of the game and tied the score at 8 when John Wagner scored from inside with 2:10 remaining.

But Leesburg sophomore Marlyn Bryant quickly scored five of Leesburg's next seven points.
