Limestone's Douglass earns All-American nod fromThe Sporting News

Senior forward Jarrell Douglass (Leesburg, Fla.) has been named a 2011-12 The Sporting News Preseason All-American Honorable Mention following one of the most impressive seasons in the men’s basketball program’s NCAA Division II era.

“Jarrell is hopefully the first of many players at Limestone to make the All-American list,” said head coach Brandon Scott. “I think in many ways it is a great honor, but I also think Jarrell should use this as motivation.

Former Leesburg High School Head Coach and current Limestone College head coach Brandon Scott
“He averaged better than 20 points and eight rebounds last year, putting together one of the best statistical seasons in Limestone’s basketball history. I feel like with those numbers and our success as a team last year that he deserved to be on the First or Second team, so I am hoping it motivates him to prove himself even more as a player and as a leader this year.
