Limestone loses its top player Douglass for the season

Now that's his good knee.

Douglass hurt the other one in a game last week and his Limestone career is finished. It became official on Tuesday as the school made the unfortunate announcement.

“It's really disappointing,” Limestone head coach Brandon Scott said. “It's a tough deal for the team but especially for him.”

The senior from Leesburg, Fla., was named Sporting News preseason NCAA Division II All-American for a Limestone team picked to win the Conference Carolinas. Douglass (6-foot-5, 220 pounds) was averaging 21.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and was shooting 62 percent. He was on pace to set the school record for career points and finish second in rebounding despite playing a season at Sante Fe Community College.
