FORMER LEESBURG YELLOW JACKETS BASKETBALL STANDOUT JARRELL DOUGLASS AT LIMESTONE COLLEGE |
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Junior forward Jarrell Douglass (Leesburg, Fla.) scored 18 points and played all 40 minutes but it was not enough as Limestone (23-7, 14-4 CC) dropped a 70-67 decision to Queens (21-7, 16-2) in an NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament First-Round game on Saturday, March 12.
With Limestone leading 62-59 with 5:05 remaining in the game, Queens put together a 7-2 run over the next 2:20 to take their first lead of the second half at 66-64. A driving layup by sophomore forward Antonio Stabler then stretched the lead to 68-64 for the Royals. Limestone would not go quietly however as they converted on a free throw and a layin by Douglass to close the gap to 68-67 with 40 seconds to play.
