Pedro "P.J." Foster, a 6-foot guard from Leesburg High School, who graduated Friday night, made an oral commitment Monday afternoon to play basketball at Brevard Community College this coming year. Foster, who averaged 13.7 points, 2.1 steals and shot 43 percent from beyond the 3-point line as a senior, is expected to play the point guard position for the Titans.
Playing the point position will be a change for Foster, who has been used primarily as a shooting guard for the Yellow Jackets.
"I think he is just scratching the surface," Leesburg Coach Colt McDowell said. "Pedro is a tremendous shooter and an outstanding athlete. He works hard on basketball and the one thing about him is he is a better person than he is a basketball player."
Foster attended a tryout at Brevard last week and impressed the coaches.
"I felt it [the tryout] went great," Foster said.
Foster is expected to sign with Brevard next Tuesday.
