Jackets Joe Toolie named to the 2011 Orlando Sentinel All-Central Florida Team, April 4, 2011

LEESBURG Leesburg's Joe Toolie, Jr. has been named to the 2011 Orlando Sentinel All-Central Florida Third Team after leading his team to it's first state basketball title since 1977. The postseason has been a busy one for Toolie who is also one of the six finalists for Florida Diary Farmers Mr. Basketball award. The award is given to the best boys high school basketball player in the state of Florida.

His list of postseason awards include, 2011 Florida Dairy Farmers Class 4A Player of the Year, 2011 Class 4A State Tournament MVP, 2011 Class 4A State Boys Basketball All-Tournament Team and Orlando Sentinel All Lake/Sumter Counties Team. 

Toolie will be one of four returning starters for the 2011-2012 season for the Jackets. Toolie averaged 12.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 33 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the free throw line in leading his team to a 28-4 record and the Class 4A state championship. Joe Toolie, Jr. will be a senior in 2011-2012 and currently he is being coveted by University of Central Florida , Lehigh University, Limestone College , Middle Tennessee State University, Columbus State University, Georgia State University, Bethune Cookman University and Florida A&M University. Joe Toolie, Jr. 

Joe Toolie Jr will play for Matt Ramker's Florida Rams on the AAU circuit this summer.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Austin Rivers
Winter Park, 6-4, Sr.
The Buzz: Central Florida's first national Player of Year averaged 28.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists to lead Wildcats (28-6) to repeat 6A state title. Scored 2,957 points — No. 2 all time in area — as four-year starter in program that went 109-18 in his stay. Headed to Duke.

FIRST TEAM
Isaac Cohen
Orlando Christian Prep, 6-4, Jr.
The Buzz: Lefty led 1A state runner-up Warriors (24-6) in scoring (15.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.6), and added 2.3 assists while playing both post and perimeter. Program was 109-14 with three state titles in four varsity seasons.

Shane Larkin
Dr. Phillips, 6-0, Sr.
The Buzz: Repeat runner-up in 6A state Player of Year voting to Rivers led state finalist DP (27-6) in scoring (18.8 ppg), assists (6.4), rebounds (6.3) and steals (3.5). School record for steals (320). Signed with DePaul.

Steve Moundou-Missi,
Montverde, 6-6, Sr.
The Buzz: Native of Cameroon averaged 17.4 points, 12.3 rebounds against strong competition for Eagles (22-4) to become former coach Kevin Sutton's third Montverde guy to average double-double. The others, Luc Mbah a Moute and Solomon Alabi, are in NBA. Headed to Harvard.

Isaac Torres
Lake Howell, 6-1, Sr.
The Buzz: Averaged exactly 20 points. Went 6-for-6 on game-winning tries in final five seconds, including three buzzer beaters, to carry Silver Hawks (17-11) to region play. Signed with Flagler.

Angelo Warner
Jones, 6-2, Sr.
The Buzz: Dairy Farmers 3A state Player of Year averaged 18.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists to lead Tigers (25-6) to state runner-up finish. Stellar QB but gave up football to sign with Morehead State for hoops.

SECOND TEAM
Adonis Burbage, Orlando Christian Prep, 6-5, Sr.; Drekalo Clayton, Evans, 6-6, Soph.; Brett Comer, Winter Park, 6-3, Sr.; Dewayne Gallimore, West Orange, 6-1, Sr.; Dillon Graham, First Academy, 6-3, Jr.
